Power.
I've owned or invested in many different types of businesses. Some were ideas that I started but never actually took it to the next step. Many were extremely profitable and grossed millions and a couple ending in failure and bankruptcy.
By far my construction company and my lifestyle event were both my most profitable and the one's I lost the most at. Due to the amount of contracts I worked with.
I never regret anything I’ve done in my life. I look at all the ups and downs I’ve gone through in life as life lessons and try to not make the same mistake twice.
MY TWO BANKRUPTCIES WERE THE HARDEST MENTALLY TO DEAL WITH. i FELT LIKE A FAILURE AND LET MYSELF AND MY FAMILY DOWN, BUT THEN I REALIZED I DIDN'T DO ANYTHING WRONG, EXCEPT FOR TRUSTING A BILLION DOLLAR COMPANY WOULD DO THE RIGHT THING. tHAT DIDN'T HAPPEN AND THE SECOND ONE I THOUGHT I HAD THE RIGHT ATTORNEY FOR THE JOB AND HE DROPPED THE BALL AND IN TURN, IT ENDED UP COSTING ME EVERYTHING!
This has always been one of my more difficult things to deal with mentally when I started out in business. Not so much now, because I’ve learned that no matter what, in life you will not be liked by 100% of people and with the internet, people can hide behind fake emails or names and spread whatever lies on the internet they want. Your real friends know the truth and for those who want to believe lies, I don’t have time for those people. When you are an employer, it’s inevitable you will have ex-employees that you might have had to fire or discipline and I had just that scenario with an employee. I had to fire him and upon doing so, that employee made up some horrendous financial lies about me. Frankly, it bothered me at first, but I know they aren’t true and simply say, look where these comments are posted, those sites speak for themselves and how despicable they are and I always openly talk about the situation if people ask, transparency is very important in my industry. It’s not always employees, I’ve had partnerships in businesses that were both successful and failures and the ones ended in failures, those same people have the ability to run to the internet and tell lies. I think what you have to realize is that, if someone doesn’t like you, be prepared for the possibility of them using the internet to spoil your good reputation. Always stay true to yourself and even though this partnership cost me financially and these ex-partners went to the internet to make up lies, I learned from this and now I’m that much smarter when it comes to future partnerships.
There has been a few that have raised an eyebrow when I told them what I truly enjoy doing. It was a near death experience for me that I changed my entire life. I realized how important my family was to me and that what I have been through in life, both professional and personally, made me an expert to help others. There is nothing more gratifying than getting a voice message thanking me for helping get their life back on track or an email that goes on and on how helpful my sessions are on the success of their business.
Juggling family and business is always a difficult scenario. When you are a small business owner, you work and work and you get the point. You have to learn to be happy at some point with your success and realize family is the foundation of any successful business.
I’ve been lucky to have worked with award winning producers and agents in Hollywood. I’m even luckier to be able to call them friends. When you get to work with the likes of Cindy Cowan, Joe and Harry Gantz and David Weintraub and singers like Jorge Moreno and Lori Michaels, I would consider myself extremely fortunate.
It wasn't the first time I was in handcuffs. When I was a kid, there was a time I ran with the wrong crowd and had done a few things that had caused being put in the back of the patrol car and dropped off at home. Again, when you own businesses there are times where in my instance, I was suing an individual and he was suing me and it came down to him making false statements and the authorities not doing their due diligence. I was lucky that when you do the right things in life, situations like this are a breeze to handle. The case was immediately thrown out and all parties that had tried to tarnish my reputation were sculled by the judge. Don’t get me wrong, it has left its mark with having to explain the situation and maybe that’s all they wanted to do was ruin my reputation, regardless again it’s a life lesson that I walked away from smarter than I was before.
Personally I do not. I also don’t believe what others tell me personally about others. I have always made my own person opinion about others and have never allowed others to cloud my judgment.
tAKE FOR EXAMPLE OF THE FAKE STORY ABOUT ME AND MY SPEAKING ENGAGEMENT AT THE UPPER DUBLIN HIGH SCHOOL! tHE PRACTICE OF CLICK BAITING IS WIDE SPREAD AND THEY ONLY SHOW A STORY IN THE LIGHT THEY CAN GAIN THE MOST VIEWS FROM. wHAT THESE ARTICLES FAILED TO SAY IS I HAD SPOKE AT THAT SCHOOL MONTHS PRIOR TO A GROUP OF WHAT THEY CALLED "TROUBLED TEENS." THE NEW AGENCIES ALSO FAILED TO SAY THAT SPEAKING ENGAGEMENT WAS A HUGE SUCCESS, HENCE WHY i WAS ASKED BACK TO SPEAK TO THE ENTIRE UPPERCLASSMAN.
I UNDERSTAND PEOPLE WILL LIE TO COVER THEIR OWN ASS, TAKE THE PRINCIPLE FOR EXAMPLE; HE FULLY KNEW WHO i WAS, THE ADULT BUSINESSES I OWNED AND IT WAS AGREED UPON THAT IF I WAS ASKED ABOUT THOSE, i WOULD NOT DISCUSS THEM!
NOW YOU KNOW THE TRUTH AND THE REST OF THE STORY! Do you believe everything on the internet?
THIS ONE WAS SCARY! WE HAD A BUSINESS INVESTOR IDEA AND TOOK IT TO OUR ATTORNEY AND THE INFORMATION WE WERE GIVEN WASN'T CORRECT AND WE GOT INTO SOME TROUBLE. wE WERE GIVEN A FINE AND HAD TO PAY BACK INVESTORS, HIRED TWO NEW (SEC) FRIENDLY LAW FIRMS TO GET US ON THE RIGHT TRACK. WE ARE BEYOND HAPPY THAT THINGS WORKED OUT IN A POSITIVE WAY, IF YOU CAN IMAGE THAT. .
I describe being an author, an incredible experience. I found it easy writing, I found it hard to edit it and for that, I was lucky to have an incredibly smart wife and a great professional editor. If you circle yourself with great people, great things will happen. It’s a great feeling knowing my books have helped others motivate themselves through their rough times.
Thank you for taking the time to get to know me. I look forward to working with you in the future.
Cheers,
Jason C. Jean
